Regular visitors to this website will know that it was originally set up by parents at St Matthew's Primary School in Cambridge who were deeply concerned by the school's decision to fingerprint children aged from five to eleven WITHOUT seeking prior express consent from their parents. We consider this at best a gross discourtesy and at worst possibly illegal!

Many concerned people including Cambridge's MP David Howarth, other MPs from all the major opposition parties, members of the House of Lords, MEPs from Brussels, leading academics from the University of Cambridge and elsewhere, parents at the school and other residents have expressed their profound worries.

A letter from parents to the school dated June 10th 2006 remained unanswered until home time on the very last day of term. Yet, with just ONE WEEK to go before the end of the school year, in a similar manner to the way the school sent out their original letter to parents which would have given them just FIVE school days to protest, the Head Teacher Tony Davies went on record as saying that the scheme would go ahead WITHOUT express parental consent commencing at the beginning of term in September.

This is your very LAST chance to ask Mr Davies to send out opt-in slips BEFORE he starts fingerprinting our children. Surely it is the very least he could do? He has refused parents' other requests point blank.

If, and only if, you are a parent at the school, please click here to send Mr Davies your message.

"Please, Mr Davies, ask us before you fingerprint our children!! It won't confuse us, as you suggest, it is our right to choose."
