Dear Parents,
As you are probably aware, we have been working to develop the school library over the past year and thanks to the great support we have had from parents and children fundraising, we are pleased to finally be able to start teaching the children to use the computerised system.
This will allow the children to borrow book of their choice, and the system will also catalogue all the books and resources that we have in school, as well as where they might be found. Rather than supply all the children with library cards (I am sure you can imagine the nightmare of children remembering to bring them, and not losing them!), we have decided to use a thumb print scanner. There wil be no data stored other than the child's name and class, which will be removed as and when a child leaves school.
We will begin scanning childrens' thumb prints on Monday 12th June. If you have any questions about the system, I would be happy to speak with you.
We are vey much looking forward to using the library as a tool for teaching, and to enhance the enjoyment of reading, and thank you once again for your support in making this possible.
