Many of the 3500 primary schools that are already fingerprinting primary school children didn't even have the courtesy to inform parents beforehand. The first they knew was when their child came home and asked "Guess what we did at school today?"
For those 'lucky' enough to be informed, the most they could expect is a letter home informing them "we have decided" to fingerprint your children, like the one reproduced below. We haven't heard of a single case where parents were asked for their explicit consent. What do you think about this? email: |

We are campaigning to have the widespread use of biometrics in schools debated in Parliament, and henceforth strictly regulated and closely monitored, with a statutory requirement for explicit parental consent wherever biometrics are used.
